Lower Manhattan Guide to NYC Restaurant Week 2018
New York City is home to an estimated 24,000 eating establishments. If you were to eat out three times a day, every day, it would take nearly 23 years to try them all. In other words, exploring the Big Apple’s restaurant scene can be overwhelming and intimidating—not to mention expensive.
Enter NYC Restaurant Week, a biannual event wherein local restaurants offer prix fixe, three course lunch and dinner menus at discounted prices. Hundreds of restaurants from all over the city participate, from casual eateries to fine dining establishments. For many New York residents and visitors, it’s a great opportunity to dine at restaurants they normally can’t afford.
Reservations are currently available for NYC Restaurant Week Winter 2018, taking place January 22 – February 9. Lunch meals are just $29, while dinner meals are $42. Here are some fantastic participating restaurants in Lower Manhattan.
The Capital Grille Wall Street
Located in the heart of the Financial District, Capital Grille Wall Street is an upscale steakhouse serving classic American fare in a sophisticated setting. Vino enthusiasts enjoy the restaurant’s impressive sommelier-selected wine list.
Restaurant Week menu inclusions: New England clam chowder, porcini-rubbed sliced tenderloin, flourless chocolate espresso cake
Cipriani Wall Street
An NYC fine dining staple, this elegant Italian restaurant overlooks Wall Street and will make you feel like a million bucks. Cipriani’s signature dishes derive from the original Harry’s Bar, a world-famous restaurant in Venice, Italy. Almost as impressive as the food is the beautiful Italian Renaissance-inspired interior.
The Tuck Room
Located in the newly revamped Seaport District, this drinking and dining destination tucked above iPic Theaters is a hidden gem—but likely won’t be for much longer. Their diverse cocktail menu highlights the unique liquid history of New York City, while the dining menu features classic American flavors by James Beard Award-winning chef Sherry Yard.
Restaurant Week menu inclusions: Reuben croquettes, mango + habanero BBQ baby back ribs, creamsicle sundae coupe
Dine with stunning views of the Hudson River, East River and Midtown Manhattan from the 101st floor of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere: One World Trade. One Dine features a seasonally inspired menu accompanied by carefully selected wines, beers and handcrafted cocktails.
This flagship restaurant of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa serves the best of both worlds in Japanese cuisine: classic Tokyo sushi bar fare and new innovations. Enjoy Nobu signatures like Black Cod Miso, Yellowtail Jalapeño and Rock Shrimp Tempura, or new classics like Downtown Style Hand Rolls for two, Short Ribs with Jalapeño Salsa or Truffle Eryngii Mushrooms.
Restaurant Week menu inclusions: Tuna sashimi salad with Matsuhisa dressing, warm mushroom soba with yuzu dressing, chocolate matcha financier
