4 Best BBQ Restaurants in NYC
The checkered table cloth is laid neatly on the wooden table, the homemade potato salad is chilling in the refrigerator and the brisket is almost ready after slowly roasting for 8 hours. An ideal setting for the perfect barbecue meal—if you live in the suburbs. Don’t fear! New York City, the food mecca of the Northeast, has plenty of barbecue-styled restaurants more than willing to satisfy all of your deepest beef cravings. We’ve scoured the city to come up with New York City’s Best BBQ Restaurants. Here’s what we recommend:
Hill Country Barbecue Market (30 West 26th Street, New York)
Located in the heart of Flatiron District, Hill Country Barbecue is serving its patrons ‘hip BBQ.’ This cafeteria-style joint is known for their picnic sized tables, killer beer selection and OF COURSE mouthwatering Texas-style barbecue. Regardless of what meat you order, we highly recommend the mac & cheese as your side.
Blue Smoke (255 Vesey Street, New York)
Just a short walk from Brookfield Place, Blue Smokes’ swanky environment should not fool you for the low-country Louisiana barbecue they’re offering. From spare ribs and pulled pork to deviled eggs or hushpuppies, you’ll feel as if you’re in the south as soon as you bite down into one of their tasty menu items.
Mighty Quinn’s BBQ (103 2nd Avenue, New York)
Tucked away in the East Village, Mighty Quinn’s BBQ is known for their mix of Texas and Carolina style barbecue. Although there are multiple locations throughout the city, the 2nd Avenue location is by far the best. Don’t leave without ordering the mouth-watering, sweet bread pudding that is soaked in fresh seasonal fruit. It’s almost as good as your grandmother’s homemade version.
Fette Sau (354 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn)
Offering popular dry-rub BBQ, this hotspot attracts both Brooklyn natives and Manhattanites. Their in-house made dry rub is a blend of espresso, brown sugar, salt, cumin, garlic powder and other delectable spices (we couldn’t tell you their secret now could we).
