Q&A Residential Hotel In New York’s Financial District
by Debra Bokur
Sleek, sophisticated and perfectly equipped for short business or leisure stays, the spanking new Q&A Residential Hotel in New York City’s Financial District is set to be your home away from home. Full-sized kitchens supplement upscale furnishings and swish décor with state-of-the-art appliances and top-brand cookware that invite stay-in-meals. Amenities include smart televisions with streaming capabilities along with a La Palestra fitness and wellness center, Urban Market gourmet grocer and Black Fox Coffee artisanal Australian coffee shop. On the horizon: a four-level wining and dining complex by restaurateur Ken Friedman and Michelin-starred chef April Bloomfield.
The project comes via Furnished Quarters, professionals in the world of furnished apartment stays. More luxury apartment than hotel suite, each of the 132 spaces range in size from 500 to 1,400 square feet, housed in an historic Art Deco landmark within the former AIG building at 70 Pine. The design team includes Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, whose past projects include the Mondrian SoHo Hotel in New York and Los Angeles’ Mondrian Hotel. Featuring carefully curated furnishings and accent pieces gathered from around the globe, each suite is named for a renowned inventor, including Thomas Edison, the Wright Brothers and Benjamin Franklin.
